INSIGHT ON STEM'S WORK IMMERSION

“You will never know if you never try”. Everything can be learned through experiences, your experiences serve as one of the foundation of what you are. According to Merriam Webster, immersion is based on extensive exposure to surrounding or pertinent to the object of the study. So, when we say immersion, it is like an OJT/ On the Job Training that we will expose our skills in the field to learned, to enhance our skills, to practice or to experience the job that we want to know or to have someday.

As a grade 12 STEM students, we all know that we will be having an immersion on the second semester. Basically it means that we will be having a “mock job”. Students of grade 12 STEM having an excitement and at the same time it make us feel nervous because as early as this time, we will be able to experience the job that we intended to have after we finish our degree in college.

According to the Google, immersion is to do an activity or job in the field to practice the skills that you have. So means, being to have an immersion is to explore our ability, to have familiarity on the job that we plan to have someday, to have an expertness, to have proficiency, and last to have mastery on the job. These are the kind of skills that we need to know during the immersion.

At the first time and at the first place, we will experience this kind of job in the field that we never expected to have. So, during that time we will need to show our skills and to show how elegance our ability is. Even if, it is our first time to do this, we should to prove in ourselves that we are strong persons though it is too early to expose our skills in this kind of job that supposed to be it will happen during 3^rd year college but because of our new curriculum today, we need to follow it. This immersion also could help us as students of grade 12 STEM to know or to have expertness and to have an idea what should we get during the time that we will applying for the job.

Therefore, we suppose that having an immersion is advantageous for us because as early as possible we are taught and we are being exposed on the job that we will be applying for in the near future. It will help us get to know better the kind of job that we want to have.
